What is the NSK?

The NSK is a shortening for Nordisk Speiderkomité. Aim of the NSK is to be the facilitator of the Nordic guide and scout cooperation and the deciding body between the Nordic guide and scout conferences.  NSK consists of two members from each of the Nordic member organisations, who can take decisions on behalf of their organisation. The intention is that the two participants should be ICs for respectively WAGGGS and WOSM, but the organisations can decide to send other representatives.  

NSK has a coordinating role in the Nordic cooperation and ensures that activities are carried out in accordance with the adopted activity plan which is prepared by NSK, discussed among the Nordic countries and adopted by the Presidium during The Nordic Guide and Scout Conference. Other tasks for NSK:  

– Develop guidelines for the activities in the activity plan.  

– Represent the Nordic cooperation in relation to Nordic Culture Point and other relevant financial supporters and ensure that projects are prepared that can receive funding from these.  

– Plan and host the Nordic Scout and Guide Conference as a Nordic meeting -platform that facilitates exchange of experiences, inspiration and networking.  

– Discuss relevant topics related to WAGGGS and WOSM European and World conferences in order to explore the possibilities for cooperation about such topics between two or more Nordic countries.  

– Ensure a process that seeks to achieve cooperation on putting forward candidates to the WAGGGS and WOSM committees. 

 The NSK is chaired by a presidency consisting of representatives from the same country. There is a rotating schedule for the presidency, and it is for three years at a time. The presidency will change at the end of the year in which the Nordic Guide and Scout Conference was held. Between the Nordic Guide and Scout Conference and the end of the year, the presidency is gradually transferred to the new presidency. The country that holds the NSK presidency establishes a secretariat to support NSK in the realization of the vision and the activity plan. 

Vad är NSK? 

NSK är en förkortning för Nordisk Speiderkomité. NSK:s syfte är att vara samordnare för det nordiska guide- och scout-samarbetet samt beslutsorganet mellan de nordiska guide- och scoutkonferenserna. NSK består av två medlemmar från varje nordisk medlemsorganisation, som kan fatta beslut för sin organisation. Tanken är att dessa två deltagare ska vara internationella kommissionärer (IC) för WAGGGS respektive WOSM, men organisationerna kan välja att skicka andra representanter. 

NSK har en koordinerande roll i det nordiska samarbetet och säkerställer att aktiviteter genomförs enligt den antagna verksamhetsplanen, som tas fram av NSK, diskuteras mellan de nordiska länderna och antas av presidiet under den nordiska guide- och scoutkonferensen. NSKs andra uppgifter: 

– Utveckla riktlinjer för aktiviteterna i verksamhetsplanen.
– Representera det nordiska samarbetet gentemot Nordisk Kulturfond och andra relevanta finansiella stödgivare samt säkerställa att projekt förbereds som kan få finansiering.
– Planera och arrangera den nordiska guide- och scoutkonferensen som en mötesplattform för erfarenhetsutbyte, inspiration och nätverkande.
– Diskutera relevanta frågor kopplade till WAGGGS och WOSM:s europeiska och globala konferenser för att undersöka möjligheter till samarbete mellan två eller fler nordiska länder.
– Säkerställa en process för samarbete kring nomineringar till WAGGGS- och WOSM-kommittéer.
